The industrial research centre Il Sentiero International Campus is participating in the 19th edition of the Salone della Ricerca e delle Competenze per l’Innovazione, which will be held from June 26 to 27 at BolognaFiere. This event provides a platform for experts, researchers, and industry professionals to meet and discuss, aiming to promote innovation and the development of technological skills.

Riccardo Franci, Director Laboratories & Technologies, Il Sentiero International Campus, is a speaker at the workshop Hydrogen, the energy vector of the future?

The workshop presents methodologies for the production of hydrogen from a circular economy through the use of waste materials and biomass, and technologies and components to support the sector, to monitor its losses and expand its field of use.

Riccardo Franci participates in the event, bringing his experience as leader of Il Sentiero International Campus within the Hydromec research project.

The project focuses on the use of hydrogen as a thermal fuel and aims to facilitate a sustainable energy transition, positioning the regional manufacturing industry at the forefront of adopting advanced hydrogen technologies.

The objectives of the project are:

• To promote the technological repositioning of the regional manufacturing industry, particularly in the mechanical engineering sector;
• To study and verify current operating conditions and differences in the use of hydrogen or hydrogen-natural gas blends in combustion chambers, developing new design and manufacturing criteria;
• To acquire skills useful for designing and developing technologies for the production of reliable components and systems for hydrogen applications, with a focus on boiler systems for domestic and residential use.

The Sentiero International Campus within the project is responsible for the study of materials, design and realisation of the demonstrators.

The partners in the Hydromec project are the industrial research laboratory Mister Smart Innovation (CNR) and Democenter. The companies interested in research and involved in the project are Immergas and Smart Engineering.

The following projects will also be presented during the workshop: H2-Synergy Project by Francesco Basile from CIRI FRAME; MetalH2 Project by Luca Montorsi from H2 Research Centre – MO.RE; SensIdrogen Project by Matteo Campana from Romagna Tech; and SHINE Project by Stefano Caramori from TERRA&ACQUATECH.

The workshop ‘Hydrogen: The Energy Vector of the Future?‘ is scheduled for Wednesday, June 26 at 2:00 pm at the Energy and Sustainable Development Arena.
